Mobile Technology

Let’s give credit where credit is due: Thank you Martin Cooper

It was April 3, 1973 when Martin Cooper, an executive with Motorola Company, placed a call to Joel Engel in what is considered the first mobile telephone call in history. It’s not like Martin pulled the phone from his pocket; on the contrary, the handheld device was barely hand-hold-able weighing in as roughly the same heft as a small watermelon. And the rest, my friends, as we say, is history.

Recently, we unveiled our new Web CenterPoint™ platform that capitalizes on mobile technology for quoting on the go. We’ve been keenly aware of both the growth and significance of mobile for many years. We’ve fully understood that statistics like mobile search surpassing all other search, or mobile screen viewing surpassing all other device screen viewing in early 2014 were irrefutable facts regarding the importance of mobile. So, for several years we’ve burned the midnight oil, put on our thinking caps, and made our brains hurt so we could offer a steady stream of mobile, or responsive to any screen size products, that will benefit our customers and their customers, as well.

With people spending more time on their phones than ever before, you will see WTS Paradigm continue to offer more products and services that will help all stakeholders in our sales channels (manufacturers, dealers, retailers, builders and homeowners) better manage many of the interactions and communications needed for configuring, ordering, managing, and coordinating the information flow right from their handheld device. There will be mobile and tablet platforms to organize projects, streamline communications between customer segments, take notes and measurements of projects with forwarding capabilities to manufacturers, and that’s just for starters.

We’re advancing innovative mobile technologies like no one else in the industry and we can’t wait to share them with you.
